About Us

We, the Black Firefighters of The City of Phoenix, have formed ourselves into an organization known as the J.W. Robinson Society; United Black Firefighters. The purpose of this union is to cultivate, diversify, and maintain professional growth among all firefighters, particularly in the African American community. We are part of a rich heritage, one with roots that stretch across time and distance to make us strong. Among our many goals in serving the community, we provide youth mentorship programs, as well as educational and teaching tools for learning in fire services. We are here to give, and to teach those who will come behind us to continue the legacy of James W. Robinson, our number one mentor.
